My name is Barbara Curlin, I was born in Alabama, raised primarily on an Army base in Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. I am the second oldest of 6 siblings. I’ve been married to my husband Willie for 20 years. I have one son, Anthony and two beautiful grandsons, Noel & Giovanni. I began working at the age of 16, as part of my high school vocational studies program. I followed my oldest sister’s footsteps and began working for the Federal Government at a very early age. The majority of my federal career was with the Department of Defense, I had the pleasure of working in numerous positions in the medical industry… I advanced throughout the ranks and when Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) became a reality for our military base, I decided to retire after 35 years of service. I loved being in the medical field, clinically and administratively, because I love helping others and felt a great connection with the military personnel. My father, brother, husband and son all served in the Army. After all, the military (specifically the Army) was all I’d known. Because I love helping others, I decided to go into business with my brother Maurice, transitioning to the civilian sector working in the Fitness industry. We co-own a beautiful facility located in Decatur, GA, called “Results Central”. I’ve always been outgoing and somewhat of a Tomboy. Never afraid to try or do anything and I love people! This was yet another opportunity to help others… I must say it’s been an awesome opportunity for me, allowing me to meet and help so many wonderful people improve their quality of life.
